Connors Family History
It is common outside Ireland for the clan name O' Connor to lose its Gaelic identity and to be found spelt as Conor, Connor, Connors, Connar and Conner, but all are originally descendants of "Conchobhair". Historically the clan is the most famous of the Irish, representing the last true Irish Monarchy. The name translates as "The descendant of hound - desire", a Viking type compound of the pre 8th Century when Ireland was invaded by the Norsemen. The clan O' Connor has six distinct septs, originally from Connacht, the largest sept is now in Munster (County Kerry). In England recordings include Edward Connor (1717, St...Select Audience

Kacee Connors
I'm Kacee Connors Van Horn, and we've been searching for my great-grandfather for decades. Thomas J. Connors, born Aug 1865 somewhere in Ireland - our DNA connects us to the West Iveragh Peninsula but family lore is all over the place - some say he was born Connecticut, another says Northern Ireland around what is now Belfast, and just for fun, he listed Wales on the 1900 census. We know his mom was Mary and he had two brothers, Bennie and Jim, and a sister, Mary. The census says he immigrated to the US in 1870 and that he was naturalized. Somehow he ended up in Clarendon AR and married our great-grandmother in 1890. That is all we have to go on. Planning a trip to Ireland in 2025. Love to have some suggestions on how to even start looking for his family.
Peter Whitson
Hello, my name is Peter Whitson. I am a paternal grandchild of Elizabeth Marcrlla Connor. 'Bess' was born in 1897, in Evanston, Illinois, USA to parets John A. and Julia Connor (Hennessey). John and Julia were documented as married on 12 October, 1881 in St. Philip Catholic Church in Highland, Iowa County, Wisconsin, USA. It has been reported that Thomas was a son of John Connorwho reportedly was born in Ireland circa 1825 and died circa 1906 in Dane County, Wisconsin, USA circa 1906. Thomas' mother is reported to be Margret Connor (McGee/MacGee) also born in ireland circa 1828 and died and is buried with John in St.Williams
's Cemetery just west of the unincorporated village of Paoli, Dane County in Wisconsin, USA. I am in search of the roots of John and Margaret. The grave marker suggests County Cork.?

Valerie Connors
The story has it the five brothers from Kilkenny or Cork - depending on who is telling the story, were "asked" to leave Ireland. One or two went to the USA while the rest went to NFLD. My great grandfather, Thomas Connors (may have been O'Connor back then) was born in and around 1860s but not sure if he was born in Ireland, along the journey, or in NFLD. I am heading to Ireland July 19 and can't wait to research!
Mary Remmel
My great-grandfather, William Connors, came from Ireland to Ohio in 1849, perhaps Louth, Ireland. He married Mary Flynn in Akron, Ohio. They moved to the Town of Mitchell, WI. in 1854. They then moved to Negaunee, MI. in 1870. He died in 1907 in Negaunee, Mi.
